How does UltraTouch promote a healthier living environment?
There are no harmful ingredients in UltraTouch. In fact, there are only three ingredients: denim, borite and a binder. None of these are known to be harmful to us. This is a picture of Borite. Starting with installation, any airborne particulates found in the air are harmless to us. While it may be dusty, anything that enters the body, is gone within 24 hours. (For details on Borates, see technical specifications: "Boron & Health Assessment") The borite that acts as a fire retardant in UltraTouch also inhibits mildew, bacteria, mold and fungi growth. Borate is an inert, or chemically inactive, ingredient that comes from the earth. Actually, it is a salt, and repels the active growth of commonly found bacteria and fungi. (For details on laboratory test results on growth studies, see technical specifications: UltraTouch Mold Test) There are also no volatile organic compound emissions, off-gassing concerns, formaldehyde or airborne particles in UltraTouch. That means no itching, skin irritation or special clothing required during installation and handling of UltraTouch. (For details on VOC's, see technical specifications: "UltraTouch Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Test") Helpful Links: Environmental Protection Agency: Indoor Air Quality |
