We're building our own home and our goal was to make it as healthy of an environment as possible since to much of our live will be spent here. Rather than installing the basic fiberglass insulation, which includes carcinogens, and harmful materials that contribute to asthma and allergies, we found this product through an environmental magazine we subscribe to. We are very thankful to have such an alternative. Not only is there nothing harmful about this product, but also it has a Class A fire code Rating, comes in various R-factors to meet your needs and is a great sound barrier unlike fiberglass. We installed the R-13 panels between our bedroom walls, bathroom walls and laundry room walls. Our house is so quiet between the rooms it's wonderful. People who come to visit remark on how nice and cozy and quiet our home is. We installed it ourselves and it was a very easy process. We didn't need to wear any protective gear or use any special tools. Although it is a soft dense material, there is no paper backing like the fiberglass batting so it could be stuffed or pulled apart easily to fit any size space between our studs and around all the electrical wires, switches and outlets.
