« Back to News IDAHO BLUE - INSULATION LAUNCHES 3/23/2007 IDAHO BLUE - INSULATION LAUNCHES FEATURING ULTRATOUCH, A NATURAL COTTON FIBER INSULATION This insulation is safe for you and the environment you live in! How can I go GREEN? Idaho Blue - Insulation has a solution for you! Very new to the Treasure Valley, they are proud to introduce a natural cotton fiber insulation called "UltraTouch." It is a building material that holds the key to change. Owners Jack and Katy Slater join many who believe that UltraTouch is a product who's time has come. "Idaho Blue - Insulation is distinguished by our commitment to discriminating customers concerned about the environment and sound attenuation," says Katy Slater, Idaho Blue - Insulation's Vice President. UltraTouch is a natural cotton fiber insulation made by Bonded Logic from the remnants of blue jean manufacturing. UltraTouch is packed with features that Architects, designers, builders and homeowners nationwide recognize. -Environmentally safe -Non-itch insulation -Class-A fire rated -Easy to install, comes in batts -Exceptional acoustic and thermal performance -No fiberglass, formaldehyde, or chemical irritants -Treated with an EPA registered fungal inhibitor for additional protection against mold/mildew/moisture and pests. "Why would anyone want to use anything else?" asks Leslie VanFoster of VanFoster Construction, Idaho Blue's first customer from Boise, ID. Idaho Blue - Insulation's warehouse is in Caldwell; product is available within one day (except for very large orders). "We carry three R-Values in two widths, all come in batts 8 feet long. Anyone can install it, but the key is to install it properly. We offer installation tips and training for our customers on their first jobs using the product," reminds Jack Slater, owner. Typically UltraTouch costs are twice as much as the typical fiberglass insulation. Comparing the two insulation alternatives is like comparing apples and oranges. UltraTouch is clearly superior to fiberglass in every aspect. The intrinsic value of protecting one's health and the acoustics (quietness) will increase the value and enjoyment of a home or office for many years. The environmental benefits and resistance to pests, mold and mildew are other features to which fiberglass can not compare. Costs are around $.80 - $1.00 per square foot installed. After using UltraTouch, Jack and Katy started this business. Following the excitement and passion for such a great product that could transform the building materials market they received a lot of support. The Idaho Energy Division, Energy Star and the US Green Building Council all endorse UltraTouch insulation. UltraTouch contributes to LEED certification for energy and atmosphere performance, recycled content and rapidly renewable resources, and indoor environmental air quality. Jack, Idaho Blue Owner, is a licensed contractor and has been in the building industry for 35 years renovating homes and building landscapes. Katy, Vice President of Operations and CFO, is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP #58985) with the Project Management Institute, and has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Idaho Chapter of the US Green Building Council. She has been managing projects and marketing efforts for over 20 years in energy efficiency and city park administration. |
